I have a question as concerns Artificers (one of my favorite classes)... An Arti can double as a healer - but they require healing potions to be able to cast their heal spell. Normally I play my artificer like that (healing as needed, etc.). As we are not allowed to purchase consumables (healing potions), but in this case they are a class spell component, is there an exception in place to allow an Artificer to use them as spell components (assuming the artificer only used them as spell components and nothing else?). This is a bit important for me, as I currently have an artificer I was thinking of bringing into the guild (L12 or 14, I forget) and just stripping most / much of his gear. Even if I make a separate artificer for the guild, I still want to be able to heal, as it is a huge part of the class for me

Artificiers potions are the same as wizards spells ---- you get them "when could purchase when you level" but that is the only time they could be bought.

I don't carry them other than for healing others, is why I asked. I just treat it like really expensive spell components (sort of like the stoneskin spell components) and use them for party aoe heals.
