A lot of feedback has been given. When Oma and Van make comments perhaps we can do a line item amendment and then vote. I think before we "go public" we need to have our ducks in a row.
Thanks for the input. It's hard at times to not say --- darn I liked that idea. I think that compromise is a good thing.
I think the one really tough issue would be shrines. I don't want to make this a source of contention.
Shrines:
Immediately prior to entry of a quest in a Wilderness area a shrine is acceptable.
On "Elite" setting quests with two or more shrines - the use of one shrine, after the first is encountered, is allowed.
On Raids (not tagging runs) at any level two shrines can be used. (I can see raids as an exception as they are particularly long quests).
If this were adopted we could make a list of quests where a shrine could be used and the number of instances. A bit of a spoiler but not too terrible.
For explorers I think that since you can recall from cleared safe areas and regenerate prior to the instance resetting no shrines other than just prior to a quest is more than fair.
Ebberon Shard Shrines may be used
To ensure that Casters are taken care of it each character who is "not" a caster give all their meta magic potions and consumables that yield wands and scrolls to casters.
Allow the use of promotional consumables (Festivult) that do not give "permanent" modifications such as the other promotions. The other promotions DO allow for permanent changes that are overpowering.
An exception (to prove the rule) is that if a character dies with a UMD scroll on their person for True Resurrection or Raise Dead they could use a Pink Shrine for another UMD or Cleric to try to use the scroll. This is an exception where common sense that such an item(s) would be on the corpse. IF the reading succeeds --- great - if not go to normal death procedure.
Of course the soul stone would have to have been recovered.
For Wilderness and Challenges perhaps this modification:
Wilderness areas and Challenges that offer "needed items" for character development may be used, but "those that do not offer such needed development" should not be run after the area has been cleared and explored one time.
For Enlistment:
Level 1 to 7 veteran or normal with no "twinked gear" to keep play balance appropriate.
For Death:
Recalling From Death:
1: Stand Alone Quests:
2: Chains
Please Read/Reply so we can Ratify by 8/1/12.
